Wendy Holroyd is a freelance face & body artist. She has been painting professionally since 2007 when she began her company, The Paintertainer. Her love of using skin as a canvas came from her college days where she studied life drawing. Going from depicting bodies to painting on them seemed like a natural progression for her and she began her journey by painting her own children for events when they were small. The attention her work got quickly snowballed and soon she began painting at childrens parties. Since then, her business has grown along with her love of body art and she has painted at hundreds of events worldwide. She has taught her work in the UK and Scotland and is so excited to be teaching for the first time internationally at Bodyssey!

I was born in Calgary, Alberta Canada but grew up in the sunny Okanagan, BC - after completing high school, I returned to Calgary where I now live with my husband and 3 children. I've been creating art my whole life and have dabbled in many different mediums, including potters wheel, jewelry design, mosaics, crochet/knitting, and illustration. I started my little Etsy shop called "Nadine's Dreams" where I sold cute crocheted and knitted things (now converted into "Nadine's Dreams Bling Shop") My Face & body art journey started about 4 years ago when a close friend asked me to face paint at her daughters birthday party when her hired artist was a no-show. I was hooked from that moment on!

Born Italy in 1974, he studied and graduated in Architecture at the University of Florence. Matteo’s love for art in all its forms has led him to be a self-taught artist. From drawing to painting, from installations to set designs and bodypainting, these are the challenges that Arfanotti accepted and that allowed him to gain an awareness and knowledge of art through a path of growth and individualization; finding his own language, common to his entire artistic production. The passion, the technique and the constant desire to experiment have led in recent years to be demonstrated (in collaboration with his wife Francesca Calamita, landscape architect) in temporary gardens for events and competitions (achieving second place in the International Competition for home gardens to Euroflora – Genova - 2011) and finally to approach the world of body painting, where he has become Italian Champion in 2012. Subsequently, he has held workshops in this discipline throughout Europe and The USA.

Josh was born in Melbourne Australia in 1972. Both of his parents were professional performers/actors as was his maternal grandmother. It was not long before he followed suit and was in his first show at the age of 4. He studied classical ballet for 7 years (RAD Syllabus) and performed in 2-4 shows per year (roughly) from the age of 4 to18.His plan was to become a stage performer doing musical theatre. At the age of 9 he began learning make up from his parents for his own use for the shows he was doing and soon found it was something he enjoyed and had some degree of skill in. He began playing around making latex masks at the age of 12.
During his teenage years he became weary of performing and found that he preferred smaller character roles that were more interesting and began doing more make up. He stopped performing all together at the age of 18. It was not until his early/mid 20s however that he decided to make make-up his career.
He started being interested in bodypainting around 1999 and was doing pieces by 2000.
Josh moved to the Orlando, Florida in 2001 and continued his career as a make-up artist and bodypainter. He found work at several companies such as Universal Studios and various production houses and artist managements companies. The bodypaint industry in Orlando at the time was fairly small but set to explode. By 2003 many new artists were popping up and bodypaint seemed to be the new flavour of the month. This led to a huge influx of new artists, some of whose motives seem dubious.
Discouraged by the direction the industry was headed Josh moved away from bodypainting choosing to focus more on film and TV work doing prosthetics and FX through his company Toxic Image Studios.
2010 hit and Orlando had established itself as a Mecca for body artists. Artists such as Nick Herrera, Brian & Nick Wolfe, Pashur and FABAIC had secured it's place as a body art hotspot. Josh and his family decided it was time to move on and relocated to
Salt Lake City, Utah. The bodypaint industry in Utah was fairly young and fledgling. Josh saw this as a chance to re ignite his passion for bodypainting in a fresh new environment bringing with him almost a decade more experience and skill development. Because of his background in Prosthetics Josh is able to produce pieces that are visually puzzling and unique

My passion for body art has taken me to teach conventions and classes worldwide. From teaching henna classes in traditional and contemporary design to airbrush and face painting. I am so thrilled to bring it back to ‘home’ in Canada and Banff is such a beautiful place to teach, share, learn, grow and commune with other artists who share my passion. This year I will be assisting on the henna track to help those in need on their henna journey but I will be focusing on instructing the airbrush stencils classes for henna and tattoo styles! Have a request like “How do I use this stencil?”, bring it along or ask me if I have it and we can show you how! I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones! Love those ‘real look’ airbrush tattoos? Learn some tricks and techniques like layering, ‘cutting’, and shading to using many different kinds of stencils to create cohesive and flashy airbrush tats that make everyone take notice! Create fast and amazing designs from ‘henna’ style to traditional that can translate into those elusive festival dollars!
Fatima Oulad Thami
At the age of four Fatima experienced the Ritual of Henna for the very first time, while being in Morocco, visiting family from father’s side. Staying at her Grand mother's house, a neighboring friend came to treat her to a henna ritual. Fishbone designs, drawn with a stick on both hands and feet..... All she could do was open up all her senses to absorb every minute of this special experience and that’s how her henna journey began. Henna has been in her life ever since. She got affected by this Henna Fever.....and has never found the cure.
I am from Kansas City, U.S.A., using my background in illustration and street art to create innovative henna design, my focus is on line quality, balanced composition and precision. I take advantage of my adaptability skills to execute traditional henna styles on demand or to freestyle with “artist’s choice”. My artistic direction with henna body art is fusion. I enjoy knowing the rules that define a specific style and then bending them tastefully in my favor to create unique works of art.
I first saw henna in 1996. It was beautiful, amazing and fascinating. I purposed to learn all I could about this art form. I spent ten years, studying, learning, practicing and gaining experience. In 2006, I made henna my profession. I began a career doing something I am passionate about. You can find me all over the Twin Cities and in Greater Minnesota bringing beauty to everyday life, one henna design at a time. I am best known for my unique style of modern fusion mehndi, attention to detail, crisp clean line work, and elegant artistry. Building community and cooperative work with other artists is a cornerstone to my business philosophy. I'm based in the twin cities of Minneapolis/St Paul Minnesota. I enjoy sharing my passion and can be found teaching workshops, community ed programs, as well as at immersion henna conferences and retreats around the country.
