5 Days of classes
05 April 2018
Pre classes April 5th
Main event April 6-8
Post classes April 9th
Bodyssey is sponsored and produced by The Canadian Association of Face and Body Artists (CAFABA). 2018 will mark the fourth outing of Bodyssey. Originally conceived to provide an education element to our membership, Bodyssey has now grown to accept delegates from all over the world from the face and body art industry. The event has hosted wonderful instructors to teach and share their skills with our delegates, to help them raise their professional skills and increase their business effectiveness. In 2016, we added learning streams in Henna, Balloon Twisting and Magic so that we could provide opportunities for fellow family entertainers to build their skills alongside the colleagues they so often work with. The expansion resulted in a hugely joyful event full of laughter and colour and sharing of ideas and experiences.
To be held at the Banff Park Lodge, in Banff, Alberta, Bodyssey will be held from Friday the 6th April through to Sunday 8th April. PRE and POST CLASSES with selected Instructors will be available on both Thursday 5th and Monday 9th for those who wish to hone their skills in smaller, specialised subjects in their fields. Pre and Post classes are open to 15 students per class and require pre registration at an additional cost. More information on these as they become available.
Our INSTRUCTORS in 2018 have been selected for their originality and for their teaching skills. We are proud to be able to give a number of great Canadian Artists a platform from which to share their work and their techniques. We look forward to extending a warm welcome to our exciting line up of Instructors. Some of whom have never taught in Canada before, and for some, this will be their first trip to North America!
In 2018 we look forward to welcoming artists and family entertainers who want to learn skills in a variety of LEARNING STREAMS:
Face Painting, Body Painting, Special FX, Airbrushing, Henna, Temporary Tattoos, Balloon Twisting and Business & Diversification. Dedicated learning streams will offer demonstrations, workshops, lectures and our instructors will major in hands-on learning. Evenings will be filled with opportunities to practice the skills learned during the days at night-time jams (in answer to feedback from previous events). We have increased the hands on time, so that delegates can get down and dirty and create till the early hours in a jamming zone.

Proud to bring Bodyssey to the Banff Park Lodge
Our VENUE, The Banff Park Lodge is situated in the centre of downtown Banff, alongside the beautiful Bow River. The hotel owns three properties on one block, which allows our delegates to determine what sort of accommodation they would like to book for their stay in Banff. All classes will take place in the BPL itself, and delegates will receive both breakfast and lunch in their registration package. Budget rooms are available however, these will go quickly, so we recommend booking your accommodation at the BPL as early as possible if you are planning to save on hotel rooms. Rooms at the Homestead Inn start at $79 per night. The Bow View Lodge start at $105 per night and the Banff Park Lodge start at $139 per night. All prices are in Canadian dollars.
The Bodyssey Bazaar will be filled with vendors selling products, services and accessories which support the learning streams at Bodyssey. All vendors will be offering their products at convention pricing.
The list of confirmed vendors will appear on this page as they sign up.
Each vendor will be selling exclusive products.
If you would like to be a vendor in the Bodyssey Bazaar, please email : and let us know about your products.
Vending hours at the Bodyssey Event will coincide with jamming times and free time. Our jamming zone will be next to the Bazaar to enable delegates to purchase while they play.
Vendors will be invited to join and advertise and promote their products on the Bodyssey delegates' private Facebook group once they have signed up for space at the event.
